mini series :: sky

Here's one of the greatest things about being in the middle of nowhere:
The sky is everywhere.

Back here in suburbia, it's masked by trees and buildings.
In the car, I flip down my sun visor and block out the clouds,
concentrating instead on yellow lines and asphalt.

But when I can see clouds roll and billow and swell across the sky,
or a thunderstorm literally rolling in,
or a hundred variations of the color pink, painted into a sunset,
it's breathtaking.

And so, while I really, really like
drive-thru coffee shops,
the grocery store that's right around the corner,
and pretty city lights,
one day,
I'd happily give it up,
just to see something like this
every single morning.

Happy Friday!
